Draft opinions

The WG discussed preliminary opinions on:

  • Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil – CMR exemption
  • Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate - DHHB
  • Butylated Hydroxyanisole - BHA
  • Benzophenone-2 and 5
  • Prostaglandin and analogues
    Tasks were allocated among members and these preliminary texts will be further discussed in the next WG meeting.

The following preliminary opinions were adopted by written procedure and have been
published in January 2025 for commenting period:

  • Scientific advice on Methyl Salicylate – children exposure -> by 17 February
  • Salicylic acid – children exposure -> by 10 March
  • Butylparaben – children exposure -> by 10 March
Final document

The WG discussed comments received and draft final opinions on:

  • Benzophenone-1
  • EHMC/OMC -> ON HOLD as results of an ongoing study will be made available to
    the SCCS on Q2 of 2025.
    As no comment was received on the preliminary version of the scientific advice on hair dye HC Red 18 (B124) – submission II, the SCCS adopted its final version on 22 January 2025.
